It seems as though every second week welcomes a new restomod Porsche into the automotive world. Don’t get us wrong, we are not adverse to this but one that has seemingly evaded profession modification is the Porsche 928. The latest Nardone Automotive boasts 298 kW and a carbon fibre body.
As beautiful as this Porsche 928 actually is, its asking price of €480 000 for the first eight launch units should bring our unfortunate expectations back down to reality. The V8-powered grand tourer demands this hefty asking price since Nardone Automotive not only gives the exterior a once over in carbon fibre, but overhauls the V8 under the bonnet too. Fortunately, this fee includes VAT and a donor vehicle for the coachbuilder to commence their work.

A 928 S4 is used as the said donor vehicle while retaining its general aesthetic but instead of the original sheet metal, the exterior bodywork is replaced with carbon fibre pieces which aids in weight reduction. A closer look at each detail also alludes to a perfectly resto-modded Porsche 928. These include the front fascia components which mount onto the front buper while the pop-up headlights have been completely redesigned and now illuminate the road ahead with LEDs.
Adding to the improved stance of the Porsche 928 are period correct forged 18-inch wheels which replace the original 16-inches. These are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres which conceal upgraded brakes. An essential upgrade considering the naturally aspirated V8 has had power ratings increased to 298 kW as opposed to a factory 261 kW. To translate this upgrade into traction is a six-speed manual with a limited-slip differential which replaces the original five-speed. Other upgrades include new axles, dampers and adaptive electric power steering which should considerably improve handling.
The interior has been tastefully reupholstered using a mixture of brown Foglizzo leather and Alcantara while the centre console boasts brushed metal with a OEM correct Porsche Classic Management infotainment system in front of the gear lever. The dash has been updated too with a retro-futuristic digital speedometer using a pixel display.
