The firm Airmatic suspension system comes standard across the range. The chassis is underpinned by a multi-link rear setup coupled with a four-link front setup. Ola Källenius, chairman of the board of management for Mercedes, has confirmed that the SUV will be built in the US.

Compared to the GLS, 82mm shorter and 105mm lower. The gigantic EV sits at around 5.1 metres in length and is 1.9 metres wide with a height of 1.7metres.

The SUV is fitted with a 12.3-inch digital cluster mated to a 12.8-inch portrait display. The front passenger will have a screen of their own. Mercedes claims that the abundance of screens and infotainment systems have been designed in a way so that they do not distract the driver.
The EQS SUV will be available In various models from the EQS 450, EQS 450 4Matic, and EQS 580. The claimed range for the mid-level EQS 450 4Matic is allegedly around 660km on a single charge. The lowest spec EQS will be outfitted with a single-motor mated to a rear-wheel-drive system that produces around 252kW and 568N.m of torque. The slightly upgraded EQS 450 4Matic will have the same power output but with dual motors and an estimated 799N.m. The range-topper EQS 580 will offer 399kW and an astonishing 856 N.m.
The range also has the aid of a ride height adjuster that either lowers the car in comfort or sports mode or can raise the car. Driving dynamics such as the rear-wheel steering system could allow for a better driving feel and capability.
There has yet to be any confirmed pricing. It’s still unclear if and when South Africa will receive the EQS SUV.
