Tesla scores another win in the ongoing trolling war.
The trolling battle between Ford and Tesla continues, as the latter has wrapped a prototype Cybertruck with vinyl intended to ape the exterior of a combustion-powered Ford F-150. A tip of the hat to the Cybertruck Owners Club for alerting us to the image.
It's the latest episode of ongoing good-natured banter between Ford and Tesla's CEOs. Elon Musk and Jim Farley have a healthy respect for each other but can't resist getting a dig in whenever the opportunity presents itself.
And since we now know that there are a few Cybertrucks running around in disguise, why not have a bit of fun with it? Elon Musk apparently thinks the Lightning is boring, so the best disguise to keep prying eyes away is to give the Cybertruck a dull exterior.
We like a bit of trolling, but Elon Musk has yet to hit the expert levels of trolling Ford has.

The image above was snapped by the Cybertruck's self-proclaimed number-one fan, Greggertruck. Apart from the trolling, we also get a closer look at the Cybertruck's frunk (or possible lack thereof).
There's a lot going on in the front of the two Cybertrucks, which means these models are either dual- or tri-motor units. Earlier this year, it was revealed that the single-motor model had been dropped. It does make sense, as the Cybertruck will likely be a niche model.
There's not a lot of space left for a frunk, but we're sure the Cybertruck will have many tricks up its sleeve to make up for it. The Cybertruck's bed is also enclosed, making a frunk kind of pointless. The main allure of front trunks has always been the additional security they provide for valuable items.
With several prototypes running around, this is the closest to production the Cybertruck has ever been. The first unit has officially rolled off the production line at the Texas Gigafactory, and mass production is scheduled for next year. We'll believe it when we see it, however.
The Cybertruck first debuted in November 2019 in a product presentation that will live on in infamy. After metal balls and a sledgehammer defeated the Cybertruck concept, Tesla stock took a 6% dip. Still, Tesla climbed the ranks to become the most valuable car company on the planet.
The last laugh belongs to Ford, however. No matter how hard Tesla trolls, Ford can always claim that it was the first mass producer to bring an electric truck to market.
