Decked out in the fanciest and lightest camouflage we’ve seen, our spies have captured a few shots of the upcoming 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC testing near the Arctic Circle.
The C-Class sedan-derived crossover utility vehicle (CUV) should ride smoothly due to its lighter weight than other SUVs in this segment.
While the CUV should remain mostly the same in dimensions, the tester seems to have a slightly longer wheelbase and a lower stance than the previous model. It’s possible that this was done to help improve efficiency and handling.

Mercedes, like most brands, will be looking to add hybrid powertrains and plug-in hybrid models in the near future, but until then, we can expect 2L powertrains in this CUV.
Despite a recent drop in GLC sales, it’s still one of Canada’s best-selling luxury SUVs, as well as one of the most popular premium vehicles in various parts of the world. As such, Mercedes will probably put the effort — and money — into the further development of this CUV.
The current model, replacing the GLK, was revealed in 2015 and received cosmetic updates in 2019. The new GLC is expected to make its debut later this year.
