Bengaluru-based EV start-up Simple Energy recently launched the long-awaited Simple One electric scooter in India. The automaker claims that the Simple One electric scooter is a ‘Super EV’ and here are the top things you need to know about this newly launched electric scooter.
Price
Prices for the recently launched Simple One electric scooter starts from Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the newly added dual-tone colour options cost Rs 5,000 more at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Colours
The Simple One electric scooter is available in 6 colour options. This includes 4 single-tone colour options such as Brazen Black, Namma Red, Azure Blue, and Grace White. On the other hand, dual-tone colour options include Brazen X, and Light X.
Battery Pack
Unlike most electric scooters in the Indian market, the Simple One electric scooter comes with two battery packs – One fixed battery pack and one removable battery pack. According to Simple Energy, the total battery capacity of the Simple One electric scooter is rated as 5kWh.
Range & Charging
According to Simple Energy, the Simple One electric scooter has a range of 212 kilometres with 6 per cent SOC left. Additionally, the electric scooter can charge at a rate of 1.5km per minute up to 80 per cent battery capacity using DC fast chargers.
However, using a home charger, the same feat takes 5 hours and 54 minutes. Out of this, the fixed battery pack takes 3 hours and 47 minutes, whereas the portable battery pack takes 2 hours and 7 minutes to charge up to 80 per cent capacity.
Electric Motor
The Simple One electric scooter is equipped with a powerful electric motor with 11.39bhp of peak power and 72Nm of peak torque. It is also worth mentioning that the continuous power output of this motor is rated at 6.03bhp.
Performance
Simple Energy claims that the Simple One electric scooter can accelerate to 40km/h from a standstill in just 2.77 seconds. Moreover, the top speed of the newly launched electric scooter stands at 105km/h.
Brakes & Tyres
The Simple One electric scooter comes equipped with a 200mm disc brake at the front and a 190mm disc brake at the rear. This braking setup along with 90/90 R12 tyres help the electric scooter stop from 60km/h to a standstill in just 27 metres.
Dimensions
The Simple One electric scooter measures 1,900mm long, 758mm wide, and 1,163mm tall. The wheelbase of the electric scooter measures 1,335mm, and the kerb weight is rated as 134 kilogrammes.
Given the dimensions, the Simple One electric scooter comes with a decent-sized boot at 30 litres. On the other hand, the seat height is on the taller side, measuring 796mm.
Deliveries
Deliveries of the Simple One electric scooter is scheduled to commence from June 6. However, the deliveries will be made in a phasely manner starting from Bengaluru. The company also claims to set up 140 to 150 showrooms across India in the next 8 to 10 months.
