The i20’s overall design has been praised for its emotional and dynamic styling that successfully blends proportion, architecture and technology on both the interior and exterior. The low roof profile and long wheelbase of the vehicle enhance its sporty stance while reducing air resistance and improving handling, which ultimately increases fuel efficiency.

The interior of the i20 is roomy and spacious, providing passengers with ample legroom and an impressive 352 litres of boot space with the rear seats up, which can be expanded to 1 165 litres with the seats folded down. The vibrant new Lucid Lime interior colour package, with its sporty pattern and bold vertical line, will surely brighten passengers’ moods, while the lime-coloured stitching adds to the car’s overall sporty character.

Hyundai describes the i20’s infotainment system as a thing of beauty, with its 10,25-inch digital instrument cluster and a revised 4,2-inch TFT instrument cluster display on lower-spec models. The car also comes equipped with a secondary type-C USB port, ambient lighting, and a Bose sound system, all of which enhance the driving experience.

Underneath the bonnet, the new i20 packs a punch, with two petrol engines, a normally aspirated 1,2 delivering 63 kW of power and 118 N.m of torque, and a 1,0 T-GDI rated at 74 kW and 172 N.m. For those who desire more power, the 48-volt mild-hybrid version of the latter increases outputs to 88 kW and 200 N.m and comes with the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which cannot be specified with the non-assisted T-GDI or the 1.2, the latter only being available with a five-speed manual.
All in all, the new i20 is a true testament to Hyundai’s commitment to innovation and design, providing drivers with a vehicle that is not only stylish and modern but also safe and technologically advanced.
