The first-ever Macan T will join the lineup in Porsche’s model range with the first customer deliveries expected from June 2022.
Priced from R1 190 000, the compact 4-door SUV is powered by a 2,0 litre, four-cylinder turbo engine producing 195 kW and 400 N.m of torque. The Macan T accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6,2 seconds and offers a top speed of 232 km/h when fitted with the standard Sport Chrono Package, including the mode switch and Sport Response buttons. As a result of a lighter and more compact powertrain, the Macan T weighs 58 kg less on its front axles than other models in the lineup such as the Macan S.
The drivetrain features a number of the German auto manufacturer’s signature management systems to improve and heighten the driving experience. It features a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) as well as the firm’s all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system that offers a wide spread of torque suited for a large variety of driving situations.
This vehicle is the only model in the lineup to have the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as a standard feature. The system seeks to optimize the Macan’s suspension to improve steering response and handling. As a result of the lightened load on the front axles, the vehicle has increased cornering ability with the PASM system having been adapted for this car, resulting in a greater bias to the rear wheels.
The front, flanks, and rear of the Macan T have been painted in Agate Grey Metallic to accentuate key design elements to make the vehicle stand out from other models. Standard, the car is fitted with dark titanium twenty-inch Macan S wheels. The interior features adjustable heated seats that feature exclusive upholstery based on the Black leather package. The Macan T sports a glass-look touch-sensitive centre console that comes standard with a 10,9-inch touch screen with the Porsche Communication Management system (PCM) and online navigation. Lowering options and adaptive air suspension are also available for the four-cylinder models. The optional Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) system can be added to further improve the driving dynamics of the vehicle.
The Macan T is currently available to order and pricing includes a three-year/100 000km drive plan.
