At the Los Angeles Motor Show, Porsche unveils a new version of its electric star. The new Porsche Taycan GTS, a model with highly athletic DNA that is similar to the special Turbo and has a range of more than 540 kilometers on a single charge, completes the sedan line. This is the first Taycan with such a high figure.
With the unveiling of the new Porsche Taycan GTS 2022 at the 2019 Los Angeles Motor Show, the German company has truly surprised. A unique variant of the sports saloon, which was disclosed in the brand’s configurator in the United States last spring, and which comes with an unexpected surprise.
In terms of speed and equipment, this latest version of the electric saloon has several fascinating new features.
On the outside, another version of the Taycan that does not differ significantly from the others, save for the special blacked out or painted black finish on the lower part of the front bumper, the base of the rear-view mirrors, and the edges of the side glass surface, which distinguishes this new Taycan GTS from the others. But there’s one more element that you’ll have to look at from above to notice, because Porsche has equipped this fifth mechanical version with a new optional panoramic technology.
The whole cabin’s glass is equipped with the patented “Sunshine Control” technology, which is noted for its capacity to darken and brighten by applying an electric current to a liquid crystal film. When clients pick from the four recommended settings: ‘Transparent,’ ‘Matte,’ ‘Semi,’ and ‘Bold,’ Porsche engineers designed a system made up of nine pieces – thinner or broader – that may alter independently.

Audi RS e-tron GT deliveries begin in Germany
The four-ringed new electric saloon has already begun selling throughout Europe. In Spain, the Audi e-tron GT is priced, and dealers are taking orders. The first unit has already been delivered to its new owner in Germany, who picked up Audi’s fifth electric vehicle at the Neckarsulm factory.
The Audi e-tron GT went into production in February, only weeks before it was unveiled and put on sale in Europe’s major markets, in order to fulfill a strong demand that Audi highlighted. The fifth model in the company’s electric car lineup is slowly making its way to new customers, though some may be able to get it right out of the factory.
In reality, the owner picked it up in the Neckarsulm headquarters of the sports brand, the Audi Böllinger Höfe. The same plant that produces the most exclusive models like the A8, S8, and R8. The exact specifications of the chosen configuration are unclear, but standard features include 21-inch alloy wheels, laser headlamps, and front sports seats with integrated headrests.
The RS e-tron GT features three electric motors, one front and one rear, that produce a total maximum power of 440 kW (598 hp) in terms of performance. It’s more than plenty, but the “overboost” option may boost it to 646 hp for a few seconds. It features an 86 kWh net capacity battery with 472 kilometers of autonomy and can be recharged to 80% in 23 minutes with quattro traction.
Sport Turismo, Porsche’s third Taycan body variation, is aimed at customers who desire a similar degree of everyday utility as the Taycan Cross Turismo but don’t want to compromise the Taycan sports sedan’s “on-road” performance.
The Taycan Sport Turismo combines the athletic style, sloping roof line, and utilitarian shape with the Taycan Cross Turismo. The cargo space beneath the huge tailgate is more than 1200 liters, and the back headroom is more than 45 millimeters over the value of the Taycan sports sedan. Off-road design characteristics are absent from the Taycan Sport Turismo.
The Taycan GTS now has a panoramic roof with “Sunshine Control” as a new option. It can convert from clear to matt using an electrically switchable liquid crystal film. The occupants are protected from glare, but the interior is not darkened. The roof is separated into nine sections, each of which may be altered separately. In addition to the two options “Clear” and “Matt,” “Semi” and “Bold” – predetermined patterns with narrow or large parts – may be chosen.
