Marque confirms 911 Carrera T will be a sportier and lighter addition to its line-up in the Kiwi market.
Porsche is bringing a new model to its 911 range, the gap-bridging Carrera T, with deliveries to New Zealand expected in the second quarter of 2023.
The T in its name stands for Touring and the car has a range of equipment above the standard Carrera package to improve its sporty nature.
Power comes from the Carrera’s 283kW/450Nm six-cylinder boxer engine paired to either a seven-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed PDK, and pricing starts from $258,500.
According to the marque, the 911 Carrera T has a top speed of 291kph and can achieve the 0-100kph sprint in 4.5 seconds.
Rear seats have been omitted and Porsche has equipped the model with a PASM sports suspension system, which drops the car by 10mm, torque vectoring on the rear wheels, a sports exhaust system and sports seats in the front.
Weighing just 1,470kg, the Carrera T with a manual transmission is the lightest series 911 with the entry-level engine. Reduced insulation, lightweight glass and a lightweight battery shave off the kilos and it is 35kg lighter than the 911 Carrera with a standard eight-speed PDK.
Other notable features include 20 or 21-inch Carrera S wheels, a GT sports steering wheel and a Sport Chrono package. New Zealand cars get the Sport-Tex extended leather interior package as standard as well.
Among the options available to consumers are adaptive sports seats, offering 18 points of adjustment instead of four, a raising front axle and rear-wheel steering.
