With 37 reported cases, Porsche will be notifying affected customers.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has confirmed a Porsche recall for various variants of its popular Macan and Panamera models. The recall was initiated after the discovery of seatbelt installation concerns during manufacturing that might cause may break-off in the event of a collision.
The report disclosed that there had been 37 instances where the lower rear outboard seatbelt units on both the left and right sides were not installed according to the standard guidelines due to incorrect instructions at the factory. These particular vehicles were produced at the Leipzig assembly plant in Germany, spanning from September 2015 to January 2020.

Porsche received information about a potential manufacturing issue in May of this year with its instructions. Upon receiving this information, the company promptly launched an investigation to identify the affected units.
Fortunately, no accidents or injuries have been reported due to the problematic part. Porsche will take the necessary steps to replace and install the fastener screw while reinforcing the affected area.
The models impacted by the recall are the Macan, Macan S, Macan Turbo, and Macan Sports Edition, produced from 2016 to 2020. Certain Panamera models, including the Panamera 4, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, Panamera Turbo Sports Turismo, and Panamera Turbo, are also affected.

Announcements of a refreshed Porsche Panamera set to debut later this year have been circulating for the past month, showcasing an enhanced front design and various mechanical advancements. Porsche has also been teasing the imminent arrival of an electric version of the Macan, and the brand aims to uphold the esteemed reputation these models hold among consumers.
While these two upcoming Porsches won't likely have issues with their seatbelts, those affected by the said issue should have theirs fixed for safety concerns.
