Swedish automaker Polestar has confirmed plans to build an electric roadster based on the Polestar O2 concept revealed in L.A. earlier this year. Named the Polestar 6, the hard-top convertible seen in the rendered image gallery below is available to reserve online as of today, and will launch in 2026.
“With the overwhelming consumer and press response, we took the decision to put this stunning roadster into production and I am so excited to make it a reality,” says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO. “Polestar 6 is a perfect combination of powerful electric performance and the thrill of fresh air with the top down.”
While there’s no mention of the built-in drone that came with the concept, the Polestar 6 does carry forward the style foundation laid by Polestar Precept, riding on Polestar’s bonded aluminum platform and using the in-house-developed 800-volt electric architecture also housed in its predecessor, the Polestar 5.

In the 6, the setup generates 884 hp (650 kW) and 663 lb-ft (900 Nm) from the powertrain’s dual motors. With these figures in mind, Polestar is aiming for a zero-to-100-km/h sprint time of 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 250 km/h.
To kick off the model properly, Polestar will move 500 numbered models of a special Polestar 6 LA Concept edition with sky-blue exterior, light leather interior, and 21-inch wheels from the O2 concept.
Polestar promised more performance and production details closer to the model’s planned 2026 launch date.
