Polestar plans to release three additional electric vehicles before 2024. In addition to the SUV Polestar 3 and Polestar 5, which will be available in 2024, the Polestar 4 is an SUV coupé. Polestar has showed the latest three models.
The Polestar 4 is bordered on the left by the Polestar 5 and on the right by the Polestar 3. The silhouette of the coupé and the upper torso are plainly evident. On the bonnet and on the sides, there is a lot of beading. Polestar is also known for its sharp front edge.
The 4 Series is anticipated to be based on the Polestar 2 (as seen in the picture), with proportions similar to the Volvo C40.
The Polestar 4 is based on the Chinese parent firm Geely’s adaptable electrical platform SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) – specifically SEA 2 for vehicles in the B to D category. The 800-volt SEA 2 has a wheelbase of 2,650 to 2,900 mm and two battery sizes of 86 and 100 kWh.
The distances between the ranges are between 460 and 700 kilometers. It is powered by two electric motors, one for each axle, same as the Polestar 3.
The Polestar 4 will set you back roughly 55,000 euros.
The electric SUV coupé will be much less expensive than the Polestar 3. Polestar’s CEO and principal designer, Thomas Ingelath, told British Car Magazine that the vehicle will cost roughly 55,000 euros. The substantially bigger Polestar 3 costs more than 75,000 euros as a luxury SUV the size of a Volvo XC90. From the end of 2023, the number 4 will roll off the manufacturing line at the Geely facility in Hangzhou Bay, China.
Polestar plans to release three additional electric vehicles before 2024. Aside from the Polestar 3, a luxury SUV the size of a Volvo XC90, and the Polestar 5, a sedan inspired by the Porsche Taycan, the Polestar 4 is an SUV-Coupé. The vehicle is claimed to be substantially less expensive than the Polestar 3 and a contender to the electric Porsche Macan, with a price tag of roughly 45,000 euros.
Polestar will unleash a barrage of new SUVs over the next two years in order to boost sales from about 29,000 vehicles this year to 290,000 by 2025.
The Polestar 3 – a huge electric SUV defined by CEO Thomas Ingenlath as occupying similar area to the Porsche Cayenne, with a projected starting price of roughly €75,000 (£64,000 at time of writing) – would be the first new model next year.
However, the Polestar 4, a smaller SUV that will be part of a “matching pair” with the Polestar 2 and will have a considerably sportier style and attitude than the 3, will produce the majority of these additional sales.
“Like with the Polestar 2, we don’t want to make the Polestar brand a brand that is out of reach for a large, large segment of the people, therefore we’re working on a second SUV,” Ingenlath explained.
When it debuts in 2023, the 4 will be a Tesla Vehicle Y competitor, according to Polestar’s CEO, who described the future model as a sportier, more compact SUV than the 3.
“This car is a little smaller, but we didn’t make any compromises on interior length.” But this vehicle is a little more ground hugging, with a coupe-like roofline, and it truly takes the brand’s excellence into that price range market.
“Aerodynamics will play a lot larger role in design and the concepts we’re working on, but I believe the electric age will usher in designs that are much more aerodynamically conscious.” You get the impression of being lifted because you’re sitting in a really sporty cabin yet it’s considerably higher above the ground. I think the notion for a future SUV would be really fascinating.”
Ingenlath predicted that the Polestar 4 will eventually reach a price point of €45,000, which would convert to a beginning price of little over £40,000 in the UK. That would put it just above the Polestar 2 saloon, which starts at £39,900 right now.
The 4 will be built on a platform dubbed PMA, according to a presentation given to investors following Polestar’s announcement that it will go public. Auto Express believes that this architecture, developed by parent firm Geely, evolved into what we now know as SEA, preserving components of the PMA platform in terms of car product but introducing additional software and intelligent applications.
