The latest verification prototype of the 872-horsepower Polestar 5 will be on display, along with several other models.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and, to mark this auspicious occasion, several new and exciting vehicles have been shown off at the iconic motoring event, including the Polestar 3 luxury SUV and the latest Polestar 5 prototype.
The Polestar 5 was unveiled at the 2022 event (albeit shrouded in camouflage) and impressed those who saw it with blistering runs up the hill, thanks to healthy outputs of 872 horsepower and 663 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle on display this year is a verification prototype, which suggests the electric four-door GT car is almost ready for production.
“We love showing our latest prototypes to the public at Goodwood,” said CEO Thomas Ingenlath. “With production now starting in the first quarter of 2024, it's time for Polestar 3 to take its first-ever run up the famous hill.”

The latest Polestar 5 verification prototype is here, too, and both will be put to work. Polestar 3 will join the high-end Polestar 5 and tackle the famed hillclimb twice a day for the duration of the festival. It may be a portly electric SUV, but with 517 hp on tap, it should put on an impressive show for the crowds.
The newly introduced Polestar 2 BST 230 is also expected to show off its dynamic prowess. Aside from the generous outputs of 476 hp and 502 lb-ft, this performance-minded model comes with a host of handling upgrades. This includes Ohlins two-way adjustable dampers, a lower ride height, 20% stiffer springs, and specially designed Pirelli P Zero tires, among other things.

All three models, along with the recently refreshed Polestar 2, will be on display for the duration of the festival.
Both the Polestar 2 and its racier sibling are available to purchase. Those who desire the palatial comfort afforded by the Polestar 3 can place an order, with deliveries expected to commence in the second quarter of next year. As for the sublime Polestar 5, we will have to wait for it to be launched officially (sans camouflage) in 2024.
Polestar is trying to position itself as a manufacturer of premium and athletic performance vehicles. Based on this appetizing lineup of vehicles, the automaker has a chance in succeeding at this. Of course, things will only get better once the achingly beautiful Polestar 6 arrives in 2026. This electric roadster is aimed directly at the Porsche 911 – dynamically, at least.
