> Mystery test mule points to a new model
> Clearly wider than a Porsche Cayman
> YesAuto’s spy shots reveal its first Nurburgring lap
> Could this be the forgotten concept car finally heading for production?
What is it?
In all honesty, we’re not 100% sure. We know that Porsche is working on an all-electric variant of the Cayman, but the lack of necessary ‘high voltage’ warning stickers on this test mule would suggest this isn’t it.
This prototype that’s undergoing initial development work is considerably wider than the Cayman bodywork it is using as camouflage. We suspect that this could the beginnings of a production Porsche Le Mans Living Legend – a once forgotten concept car that recently had a fresh patent application applied for this year.
What is it powered by?
This car is clearly in the very early stages of development, so things like powertrain are a bit of a mystery. A safe bet would be Porsche’s signature flat-six, but this new model could be a means of ushering in some hybrid elements to the sports car range. Watch this space.
When will it be on sale?
This car is right at the start of its development life, so maybe don’t expect to see it anytime soon. If it is indeed a production version of the Le Mans Living Legend, we’d speculate a 2023 launch.
How much will it cost
That’s an interesting question. Looking at the Porsche lineup, and if indeed this is the Living Legend, it would sit above a Cayman but below the 911. We’d have a guess at around £60,000 as something of a placeholder until we know more.
