The new Mini Cooper SE is now available in South Africa, at a lower price than before.
This is the first electric vehicle (EV) from a major brand in South Africa to deliver on the promise of EVs getting cheaper “in the long run”.
Before the new model went on sale, the Mini Cooper SE would have cost you R686,400.
Now, the new Mini Cooper SE has a South African starting price of R658,000 – which is a R28,400, or 4%, discount over the outgoing model.
Features
The new Mini Cooper SE is sold in one trim level, which is equipped with premium features such as sports seats, a leather multifunction steering wheel, climate control, cruise control with emergency braking, rear parking sensors, and LED headlights.
Connectivity is taken care of by a 6.5-inch infotainment display with Bluetooth support, and a 5-inch driver’s display is fitted as standard.
Four equipment packages that were composed to include the most popular aftermarket options for the Mini SE are then available to choose from.
The Classic package, at a price of R28,400, adds a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, additional cabin lights, and the Connected Media option that brings with it a multifunction instrument cluster, ConnectedDrive online services, and intelligent emergency calling.
The Signature package, at a price of R30,900, builds on the Classic package by further providing a 12-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system, as well as the Connected Navigation option.
The latter provides real-time traffic information, integrated navigation, and Apple CarPlay capabilities – in addition to the Connected Media features.
The Mini Electric Collection, at a price of R43,500, provides a cloth/leatherette upholstery, 17-inch Electric Collection wheels, a Nappa leather steering wheel, a multitone roof, ambient lighting, and adaptive LED headlights.
The Iconic package, at a price of R48,900, then gains a rear-view camera, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a parking assistant, the Harman/Kardon sound system, and the Connected Navigation option.
