The new 270-mile single-motor version of the Polestar 2 will begin at $47,200 (such as location) in the United States, Polestar confirmed Thursday.
That base value undercuts the Tesla Model three, which now begins at $48,190 for base version with a 272-mile variety. Considering that Polestar qualifies for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit and Tesla does not, the actual value distinction could be even higher for some consumers.
In states with generous incentives—like New Jersey—the single-motor Polestar 2 could be had for “properly beneath $35,000,” Gregor Hembrough, head of Polestar North America, stated in a statement.

The Model three does have an benefit in efficiency, on the other hand. Tesla claims the base Model three can do -60 mph in five.eight seconds, compared to 7. seconds for the single-motor Polestar 2.
Both the single-motor and dual-motor versions of the Polestar 2 are offered with two choice packages. The Plus Pack ($4,000) adds the heat pump that enables the maximum 270-mile variety, along with a panoramic glass roof, 13-speaker Harman Kardon audio program, and WeaveTech vegan upholstery.
The Pilot Pack ($3,200) adds driver-help capabilities like adaptive cruise handle, blind-spot monitoring, and Polestar parent Volvo’s Pilot Assist program.

In a first drive we identified best-notch create high quality and a premium appear and really feel, even if it is missing the efficiency of dual-motor models, which also get some revisions for the 2022 model year. The dual-motor version is faster, but only has an EPA-rated 249 miles of variety.
Either way, we’ve identified the Polestar 2 drives like a classic European performance car. Meanwhile, the customer experience is direct, like Tesla’s, but with some of the positive aspects of an established dealership network thrown in.
