One of the world’s most beautiful and iconic vehicles, the Mini Cooper, has debuted its first-ever electric special edition, with the company’s Mini Cooper SE EV being the first of a number of revamped vehicles in a special edition.
Based on the Mini 3-door, the Mini Cooper SE offers what BMW describes as a “combination of tradition-steeped design features and forward-looking drive technology”, and dumps the chrome elements on the car’s exterior in favour of the more sustainable bronze highlights.
With a 135kW electric motor delivering 184-horsepower and a range of up to 234-kilometres, the Mini Cooper SE is suited to urban driving conditions, and will likely be more than enough for most looking for a car to get around in.

But the new Resolute Edition also offers the car in Rebel Green – a colour previously reserved for the John Cooper Works models – paired with the Pepper White finish for the roof and exterior mirror caps.
Further design elements unique to the Mini Cooper SE Resolute Edition include bonnet stripes, featuring a pattern made up of parallel lines and a colour gradient that runs between light and dark shades of gold along with the inscription ‘Resolute’.
17-inch alloy wheels are also available, while the interior comes in a combination of fabric and leatherette finish in Black Pearl and Light Chequered and an anthracite-coloured roof liner, as well as black armrests and knee rolls.
Expected to go on sale in March, it is unclear at the moment whether the MINI Cooper SE in the Resolute Edition will see the light of day here in Australia. We have reached out to BMW for comment and will update as appropriate.
