But no other details were provided.
We've already seen it covered in camouflaged spy shots (including some that came from Mini itself) and in leaked photos, but this is our first official look at the next-generation Mini Cooper Hardtop Two-Door in all of its undisguised glory. The car pictured below is a Cooper S finished in a lovely blue with a white roof and matching white mirror caps. It keeps the familiar round headlights and adopts the light up grille surround from the Aceman Concept.
Judging by the lime green S badge and the lack of exhaust ports in the back, it looks like this will be the first Cooper S to go fully electric. The next-generation Cooper is rumored to arrive with gas, diesel (Europe only), and electric powertrains, but it's still unconfirmed which trims will be offered with which powertrains. We expect the gas model to look similar to the EV. “There is no additional information we're able to share on this car at this time,” Mini told CarBuzz after sending the new photos.

Any additional details such as power output, range, or charging speed are still unknown. But we can at least take a close look at these new photos to uncover some new information.
For starters, the taillights are a completely new shape and the door handles have the same flush design that BMW is using on all of its latest models. These Cooper S wheels are some of the most we've ever seen with what we would describe as a “broken spoke” pattern. Mini used a two-tone silver/black combination to make it look as if the car's twin-spoke wheels are actually cracked and floating within the tire.

Mini didn't share any images of the interior but we can see the Cooper S will get some snazzy new sports seats with a two-tone color combination. Thanks to previously leaked images, we know the cabin will be radically different than the current Cooper. The gauge cluster is gone, replaced by a pop-up HUD on the dash. All other information will live on a new, round infotainment screen with physical climate controls below it.
We still expect the new Cooper to arrive later this year as a 2024 model, but nothing has been confirmed officially. At least we know the next-generation car retains its cute styling.
