MINI Countryman Blackheath Edition Limited To Only 48 Units In Malaysia

MINI has carved a lifestyle niche for itself, issuing exclusive versions of its cars. The latest such example is the MINI Countryman Blackheath Edition launched by MINI Malaysia. Malaysia is the first market in ASEAN to get the Countryman Blackheath Edition, which is limited to only 48 units.

The Blackheath Edition takes its name after Blackheath district in southeast London, and wears a dramatic all-black design. It is available exclusively in Midnight Black, an exterior colour offering that is also making its debut in this second generation MINI Countryman. The special edition also features matte tone bonnet stripes in Brushed Aluminium. Further, exclusive to the Blackheath Edition are original MINI accessories in Piano Black trim. The Piano Black trims cover the headlight and taillight trim, front grille, door handles, front and rear emblems as well as the COUNTRYMAN tailgate badge, giving the car a stealthy appearance. The Countryman Blackheath Edition will also feature newly designed LED fog lights and aerodynamic mirror caps which were first seen on the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman 306HP which debuted last year.

The Blackheath Edition is also the first special edition of its generation to be powered by the newly updated 2.0L MINI TwinPower Turbo engine which produces 192 hp and 280 Nm of torque. This is paired with a 7-Speed Sport Dual Clutch Transmission and allows the Countryman to achieve a century sprint time of 7.5 seconds; top speed is limited to 225 km/h. Additionally, there is a coasting function available in both the MID and GREEN driving modes. In these modes, the drivetrain will disengage as soon as the driver takes pressure off the accelerator pedal. This allows the Countryman to roll along at the engine idling speed and minimise fuel consumption. Furthermore, the redesigned Electronic Selector Lever always returns to its original position after changing between drive (D), neutral (N) and reverse (R). For convenience, the parking lock can be activated by pressing the “P” button  and Sport mode (S) can be activated from the D position by shifting the selector lever to the left.

Exterior highlights also include 19″ John Cooper Works Circuit Spoke wheels shod with run-flat tyres to complement the dark exterior colour, along with the John Cooper Works Aerodynamic kit.

In the cabin, the sports seats in Leather Cross Punch in Carbon Black is complemented by the Anthracite headliner. The classy interior is further accentuated with the MINI Yours Illuminated Interior Trim in Piano Black, allowing the driver to choose from 12 ambient colours for a more personalised environment. The aural experience comes from a 12 High Performance Speaker Harman Kardon Sound System with DSP Amplifier and Class-D technology with a 360-watt output.

The Countryman Blackheath Edition comes with the advanced MINI Connected with built-in 4G SIM that enables such services as the Intelligent Emergency Call and MINI TeleServices. The current update of the MINI Connected App furnishes owners of the Countryman Blackheath Edition with an exceptionally wide range of digital services such as Concierge Service and MINI Online. The app also enables sending navigational information from smartphone to vehicle and receiving departure information as well as the MINI Remote Services–which displays vehicle location, fuel level and other vehicle status details on your mobile device. This function also allows quick activation of the headlight flash, horn, ventilation and door lock / unlock function.

The infotainment system also has Apple CarPlay connectivity, allowing you to connect your iPhone with the display, controls and speakers, as well as allowing you to control the phone’s functions and apps with either the MINI or Siri voice control. Further, the 8.8” MINI Navigation System can be operated via touch screen, centre console or voice control to give you easy access to a wealth of navigational information.

The retail price of the MINI Countryman Blackheath Edition is RM253,888 (on the road, without insurance) and is now available at all authorised MINI dealerships nationwide. For the price, the Countryman will be covered by the MINI 4 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty with Free Scheduled Service.

Also available is MINI Malaysia’s 5 Years Roadside Assistance programme, with a comprehensive list of services that includes a 24-Hour, 365-days-a-year Accident and Help on the Phone and On the Spot Hotline, Free Towing Services and when needed (over 200 km from residential home), Replacement Vehicle, Seamless Mobility, Accommodation, Mobility Services Solutions as well as Repatriation services. MINI Service Online is a new online service programme that allows customers to schedule their service needs directly at their preferred MINI Authorised Dealerships via www.service.mini.my.

Also available is the Balloon Financing from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, which puts monthly payment for the MINI Countryman Blackheath Edition as low as RM2,908 (based on estimates of 80% loan on a five-year tenure).
