Mercedes-Benz has recently unveiled its latest iteration of its GLC-Class. And for those who want the utility of an SUV but the sporty roofline of a Coupé, it has now introduced the GLC Coupé. But how many derivatives are there, what do they offer, and how much do they cost?

Design
The Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class is not just merely a C-Class on stilts but rather takes on its own character. Setting itself apart from the iteration, it replaces the new GLC Coupé and offers a new bumper design upfront, incorporating a simulated chrome underguard. The most distinct changes up front are the new grille with the Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star pattern as standard specification and the narrower and more aggressive headlamp design, which now meets with the grille.
On the sides, Mercedes-Benz says they offer customers optional running boards for more utility, which will compliment the new and more muscular contours on the sides. Where the new model completely departs from the previous iteration is at the rear. The new GLC Coupé provides new and more angular taillamps with a central plastic piece connecting the two units, resulting in a similar look as you would find on Mercedes-EQ products.
Interior
The interior of the new GLC Coupé has also been completely revised, and customers can now expect a new fascia and door card design with a more angular design and modern trim surfaces. The centre console is much more minimalist as the only buttons that feature is a thin strip beneath the 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Contributing to this minimalist design is the omission of the touchpad and the HVAC controls now incorporated into the infotainment system. The three central air vents, which have a more rectangular design, are now positioned above the infotainment screen instead of underneath as in the previous iteration.
The driver also now benefits from a full 12.3-inch, floating digital instrument cluster. In front of it is a brand-new steering wheel incorporating many capacitive-touch controls for both displays so that they can access comfort, navigation or the Android Auto or Apple CarPlay apps with ease.
Drivetrain
The new GLC Coupé will, for now, be offered in two derivatives, namely the 220d 4MATIC and 300d 4MATIC. Both are mild-hybrid as they incorporate Mercedes-Benz’s integrated second-generation starter-generator. As for the efficiency and performance figures, find the table below.
