Technological start-up company, Matter recently launched the Aera electric motorcycle in India at Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This newly launched electric motorcycle will be made available in 4 variants.
According to the EV maker, the four variants of the newly launched Matter Aera electric motorcycle are Aera 4000, Aera 5000, Aera 5000+, and Aera 6000+. However, only two of these four variants have been launched.
At present, the EV maker has launched the Aera 5000, and Aera 5000+ variants, where the latter is priced at Rs 1.54 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which is Rs 10,000 more than the Aera 5000 variant of the newly launched electric motorcycle.
Diving into details, one of the stand-out features of the Matter Aera electric motorcycle is that the model comes equipped with a 4-speed gearbox. This is very unique for electric two-wheelers as they rarely require a gearbox to transfer torque effectively to the driven wheels.
That being said, both the Matter Aera 5000 and 5000+ electric motorcycles come equipped with a 5kWh battery pack with liquid-cooling technology along with a 10kW (13.4bhp) electric motor and 4-speed gearbox. It is also worth mentioning that both motorcycles sport an IP67 rating.
Thanks to this powertrain setup, the EV maker claims that both the Matter Aera 5000 and 5000+ can travel up to 125 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack. Furthermore, both these electric motorcycles come with 4 ride modes including a reverse mode.
In terms of features, both the Matter Aera 5000 and 5000+ motorcycles come with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen LCD display, 9-Axis IMU, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, single-channel ABS, front and rear disc brakes, all-LED lighting, and much more.
It is also worth mentioning that both electric motorcycles come with 3 Year/Unlimited kilometre warranty on both the motorcycle and the battery pack. Furthermore, the company offers Aera 5000+ customers with Care+ and Connected packages as complimentary during the promotional period.

With the launch of its Aera range of electric motorcycles, Matter is looking forward to gaining some traction in the Indian electric two-wheeler market. Moreover, sporting a 4-speed gearbox does make the Matter Aera stand out and we expect people to take notice of this EV maker.
