Production of the Lotus Emira GT4 race car has already started, ready to fulfill orders from the UK, Europe, China, Australia, and the USA.
Introduced last year, the race car version of the road-going Emira also gets more power than what was initially announced, along with a slight increase in pricing. The Emira is the last Lotus to be powered by an internal combustion engine as the brand moves into electrification.
The Emira GT4 is still powered by the Lotus-tuned 3.5-liter Toyota V6 2GR-FE mill with a dry sump, Motec engine management, and Harrop TVS 1900 supercharger. It produces 455 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, roughly a 10% increase from what Lotus originally stated last year. For the added 10%, Lotus is charging $17,600 more than the original sticker price.
Transmission-wise, the GT4 class-homologated race car is equipped with a Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle-shift actuation.
Lotus also announced that it enhanced the Emira GT4's braking system, springs, damping, and cooling packs. The vehicle has a double wishbone setup at the front and rear, complemented by two-way adjustable Ohlins TTx dampers and front and rear anti-roll bars. The claimed curb weight is 2,998 pounds, which can vary depending on customer specifications.
The Emira GT4's 18-inch forged aluminum wheels are wrapped in Pirelli GT4 tires. Inside, it comes with an FIA-approved six-point roll cage and an FIA-compliant HANS-approved seat with a six-point harness. To keep you well-informed, the electronics include a Motec dashboard with data logging.
Moreover, Lotus threw in an enhanced aero package with the Emira GT4, specifically a composite front splitter assembly and a rear-mounted aerofoil, ensuring stability and downforce.
All Emira GT4 customer cars are hand-built at a new production facility in the UK with a non-limited production. The price has increased from around $225,600 at current exchange rates before taxes and delivery fees. As mentioned earlier, that's $17,600 more than expected.
Unlike the delayed deliveries of the Emira V6 First Edition, the Emira GT4 will commence shipping to customers in the summer of 2023 and will happen simultaneously around the world.
