Joey Logano swept all stages and led 78 laps en route to win the Weather Guard Truck Race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway on Saturday night.
The defending NASCAR Cup Series champion expertly wheeled the No. 66 Ford F-150 in the 150-lap race, battling with fellow ThorSport Racing driver Ty Majeski to the finish line. Logano finished 1.241 seconds ahead of Majeski.
Kyle Busch Motorsports’ William Byron finished third in the No. 51 Chevrolet Silverado.
ThorSport’s Matt Craftson came in fourth and GMS Racing’s Grant Enfinger was fifth.
While Logano held a tight grip on the lead for a majority of the race, Majeski showed a wheel to the No. 66 several times. On lap 41, Rackley WAR’s Matt DiBendetto inserted himself into the mix and overtook the pair of ThorSport drivers for the lead. On lap 52, previous to the end of the first stage, Logano shot back up front with Majeski and Byron in tow.
The trio of Logano, Majeski and Byron finished 1-2-3 in both stages.
Notably, Roper Racing’s Kaden Honeycutt enjoyed a strong performance early on, finishing fourth in stage one. He eventually slipped back to ninth. In his NASCAR Truck Series debut, Jonathan Davenport finished 14th in the No. 7 Spire Motorsports entry.
Two multi-car wrecks took place in the seven-caution race, taking Tyler Ankrum, Taylor Gray, Mason Massey and Stefan Parsons out of contention. Christian Eckes, Parker Kligerman and Tyler Carpenter also experienced a bit of bad luck, ultimately finishing near the 30th-place mark.
