Lamborghini has unveiled a yacht called the Technomar for Lamborghini 63. The stats are astonishing: two 24.2 litre diesel engines with 2000bhp a piece and a combined torque figure of 13,000Nm; a 70mph top speed (a lot for a yacht); 24 tonnes (not a lot for a yacht); £3,000,000 price tag (a lot, even for a yacht).
The 63 part of the name is a reference to the year Lamborghini was established (1963), but the yacht also happens to be 63ft long. It’s constructed largely from carbon fibre and the styling is, we’re told, inspired by the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 (below), Lamborghini’s first hybrid supercar that was unveiled in 2019 and limited to just 63 copies, for a reason you can probably guess. That makes this the second thing this year inspired directly by the Sian, the first being a Lego set – by some distance the more affordable of the two, at £350.
So why the collaboration? Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali explains: “This yacht represents the significance of creating a valuable partnership, at its best: our co-operation allows the essence of both organisations’ style and expertise to be transferred to different worlds, sharing in their diversity to interpret and add value to the final product in a new environment. If I had to imagine a Lamborghini on water, this would be my vision. I’m delighted to celebrate this successful collaboration.”
It’s the Technomar for Lamborghini is the fastest yacht that The Italian Sea Group makes, but aside from that the companies have ensured that it’s as luxurious and customisable as can be – “it represents the vanguard in luxury speed boats,” according to Lamborghini, and is “created from a high-performance shell, developed by naval engineers specializing in hydrodynamic sciences.”
Features like the Y-shaped bow lights are mentioned, which are inspired directly by the Sian FKP 37, while the sweeping silhouette takes inspiration from ‘60s and ‘70s models like the Miura and Countache. The cabin is awash with hexagonal and Y-shapes too, and while there are two official choices of interior, buyers are invited to customise their Lamborghini yacht to their heart’s content. Of course.
The instrument panel for the…we want to say “captain” – the person driving the thing, anyway…is of course based on a Lamborghini instrument display, with carbon fibre detailing, sports seats, a Lambo steering wheel and a pair of start/stop button (one for each engine) lifted directly from the Aventador.
