Both are running, driving vehicles, and are currently up for grabs in the Netherlands.

Lotus has shown off a bunch of neat concepts over the years, but it’s rare you actually see them for sale. A dealership in the Netherlands has listed not one, but two ultra-cool Lotus concepts on its website, and we can’t decide which one we’d rather have.
The first one is the Lotus Etna. Introduced at the 1984 British Motor Show, it was meant to be an Esprit successor, sporting striking Giorgetto Giugiaro-penned lines and a Formula 1-derived 4.0-liter Type 909 V-8 making a claimed 335 hp. Of course, Lotus’s financial troubles and its eventual sale to GM put the Etna on the back-burner permanently. In 2001, a Dutch Lotus collector acquired the undrivable fiberglass concept body and had it converted to a real, running, driving car using an Esprit chassis. They even used a Type 909 engine that came with the car for a powertrain.

The second car is the M200 Speedster. A one-off derivative of the front-wheel-drive M100 Elan, it uses that car’s turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four Izusu engine. The pop-up headlights were replaced with a fixed-panel design, while the windshield has been deleted in favor of a low-cut piece of glass that sweeps onto the doors. There’s a fixed roll hoop and a beam that separates the driver and passenger sections, as well as a set of trippy-looking seats.
Both cars are currently listed for sale by Metropole Classics, a dealership in the Netherlands, with asking prices of €125,000 (roughly $140,000) each. We’re sure no matter which one you like more, you’ll have a good time behind the wheel. But if you’re a collector, the Etna is probably the better bet, with its true one-off Italdesign looks and ultra-rare V-8.
