Gujarat-based tyre manufacturer Mahansaria Group recently revealed its new tyre brand – Reise Moto. The new tyre marque is a partnership between the Mahansaria Group & European motorsports specialists – Mitas.
Mitas has been making tyres for two wheelers for agers now and is best known for providing tyres for riders on the Dakar rally, considered by many to be the toughest in the world. The Mahansaria Group is producing tyres for Mitas at its facility in Bharuch and it is from this very facility that the new Reise Moto tyres are manufactured.
On the sidelines of the Reise Moto TrailR tyre test ride, we sat down with Yogesh Mahansaria, Founder & MD, Reise Moto and discussed the company’s new tyre lineup and plans for the future including tyres for EVs.
In our conversation with Yogesh Mahansaria, the founder and MD of Reise Moto revealed details about the current lineup of tyres offered for the Indian market. Reise Moto currently offers 4 versions of tyres for the motorcycle market include the flagship TrailR tyres that we recently rode (You can read our review here) which features a 50-50 bias between road and off-road usability.
The other motorcycle tyres are more road biased and like the TrailR focus on specific applications. Reise Moto also sells two types of tyres for scooters in India.
The Reise Moto Founder also revealed that brand was very interested in providing tyres for EVs. Mahansaria revealed that the firm was working on tyres specifically for two-wheeled EVs and would come up with products targeting the same in the future.
Mahansaria stated that Reise Moto differniates itself from its competitors by focusing on product specific applications instead of providing a a one size fits all tyre.
Mahansaria also revealed that Reise Moto is currently in the process of expanding its distribution network across the country (the brand currently covers around 60% of the states). He also revealed that the Reise Moto would soon be selling its tyres online through which would make them even more accesible for customers looking to buy their products.
