Toyota Gazoo Racing has joined forces with toy maker Lego to create an incredible life-size model of the GR Supra.
Using an astonishing 480,000 bricks to build neither LEGO or Toyota have revealed how long it took to assemble the blocky Supra, but the previous Camry from a couple of years ago took 500,000 pieces and was claimed to take two months to build.
Unlike the Camry, as well as being a full-scale, the model Supra is driveable but – before you ask. It's not powered by the real car's 335bhp 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder. Instead, there's a tiny battery-electric motor that propels the Toyota coupe at a more pedestrian pace.
Built in collaboration with the Japanese car-maker's performance division and the famous Danish toy maker to commemorate the 35 years the Supra has existed as a standalone car, the detailed model also features working headlights and daytime running lights.
The interior, meanwhile, is almost entirely constructed out of Lego including the dash, centre console, gear selector and passenger seat.
Letting the side down a bit is both the driver's seat and steering wheel, rims and tyres are all borrowed from the real thing to ensure the model can drive.
Frustratingly, for those who fancy their own life-size Lego Supra, there's no plans to offer it for public consumption. Instead, the Toyota and the toymaker have created a considerably smaller version of the fast coupe as part of its Speed Legends, which is priced from around £17.
The arrival of the Lego Supra follows in the tyre tracks of not only the full-size Camry, but other collaborations with other car-makers that has seen a Volkswagen camper, McLaren Senna and 720S and a Honda Civic Type R all built by the world-famous plastic building brick.
Which begs the question which car, classic or modern, would you love to see get recreated out of Lego?
