With data collected by the EuroNCAP, the raised Swedish hatch was awarded 2 high scores in all crash tests with full points achieved in child and adult occupant safety during the side impact test which ultimately gave it the five-star ANCAP rating. It wasn’t all top marks though as occupants in the Polestar 2 are more susceptible to injury during vehicle-to-vehicle accidents.

The latest EV from Polestar becomes the fifth battery electric vehicle (BEV) to be tested against ANCAP’s latest criteria. An impressive list of standard safety equipment across the Polestar 2 range include: eight airbags, autonomous emergency braking, oncoming lane mitigation, run-off road mitigation, lane-keep assist, driver attention monitoring and traffic sign recognition. This in in addition to the now commonplace features such as rear parking sensors, a reversing camera blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic assist.
