In spite of the Porsche Macan not being completely new since 2014, it is a consistent seller in the U.S. On average, it sells over 20,000 Macans each year. For comparison, the 911 sells half that many on an average yearly basis. So the Macan is an important vehicle for Porsche, and in 2024 it is all-new.
Will the next Porsche Macan be an EV?

It is also an EV. Really, it is inevitable that, like most other automakers, electrification will be at the forefront of new platforms. And in the case of the Macan, to help sway its traditional buyers to electrification, it needs startling numbers.
So first off, the 2024 Macan will feature over 600 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque from a 270 kW system. To add more interest, it will feature rear steering. Porsche has incorporated this feature into the Volkswagen Group Premium Platform Electric or PPE. This is the same platform underpinning the Audi Q6 e-tron.

Porsche’s Active Suspension Management system or PASM, and torque vectoring get added to the locking rear end. In front, a new double-wishbone axle will make for some sporting handling. In fact, Porsche says it “will be the sportiest model in its segment,” according to Carscoops. Part of that equation comes from all-wheel drive.
As far as range, Porsche hasn’t said. But it does say it will have 80 percent recharging capability in under 25 minutes. With two 400-volt batteries, they can be charged simultaneously. Added to this is something called Integrated Power Box. This gives it onboard AC charging, a heater, and DC/DC converter combined.

As for its design, Porsche is giving the Macan a more organic, rounded overall design. It is in keeping with its 911 and Taycan cues, meaning voluptuous front and rear fenders. But in a break from the current Macan, it will also feature more of a fastback profile, moving away from its hatchback crossover design. And the body sides will have that familiar 911 soft roll running along the beltline.
The DLO or side window shape will also be more 911-like, sharply rounding off in the C-pillar. And they are now flush, with much of the SUV-like framing now gone. In the rear, the Macan will feature an active aero control spoiler.
The front will also deviate from the current Macan/Cayenne breakup with more emphasis on the side intakes along with the hood ending in a soft roll as does a 911 or Taycan. What it won’t have is the large vent and door indent the Taycan features in its front fenders.
What about the cabin?

Inside, we expect the interior to take cues from the Taycan. Three screens will transition together from side to side. Below them will be toggle controls and buttons for adjusting cabin climate and other comfort controls.
