Apart from the stack of batteries behind the seats, the car seems to have smaller floor-mounted batteries as well.
Ferrari confirmed that it will debut its first fully-electric model globally in 2025. Now, patent drawings revealing some of the technical details of what could be the brand’s first electric supercar have been revealed online.
As per reports, the patent was filed in 2019 but was published on January 26, 2022. Titled as “Electric or Hybrid Sport Car”, the patent images reveal a low slung two-seater sports car, with a traditional mid-engined layout. Although in this case, the engine has been replaced with batteries. Apart from the stack of batteries behind the seats, the car seems to have smaller floor-mounted batteries as well. Reports suggest that the layout could be used in a number of models from the brand, including hybrid offerings.
Another detail seen in the patent images is that the rear subframe portion of the vehicles seems to be tilted slightly upwards. According to Ferrari, this has been done to improve downforce. Also, since the batteries will be stacked parallel to the platform, the slight tilt will help in cooling the batteries.
The images also provide a loose interpretation of what Ferrari’s electric supercar could look like. However, they are not representative of the actual production model, unless specified otherwise.
