BYD expands its flash charging network to support Z9GT fast charging. Infrastructure expansion supports demand The Z9GT’s charging capability is tied to BYD’s rapid infrastructure rollout. The company recently announced it had deployed 5,000 flash charging stations within 27 days, covering 297 cities across China. These stations support high-power charging, enabling compatible vehicles to charge from 10% to 70% in about 5 minutes and to 97% in about 9 minutes under standard conditions. BYD plans to expand this network further, targeting 20,000 stations nationwide by the end of 2026, as charging speed and availability become key competitive factors in China’s EV market. Delivery bottlenecks and supply chain factors According to company statements, production ramp-up is affected by multiple factors, including a wide range of configurations and colour options, as well as component supply coordination. The company is also increasing logistics capacity through multiple transport methods to accelerate deliveries. Dealers have reportedly faced shortages of display vehicles in recent weeks, reflecting tight supply conditions.
