This new model will be sold alongside the existing plug-in hybrid version. The new model is launched in two variants: the starting price of the standard version is 299,800 yuan (44,100 USD), and the flagship version is priced at 329,800 yuan (48,600 USD). Interestingly, with a larger battery, the pure electric version of the N8L is 20,000 yuan (3,000 USD) cheaper than the 319,800 yuan (47,100 USD) starting price of its plug-in hybrid counterpart. Dimensions and design The N8L pure electric version measures 5200 mm in length, 1999 mm in width, and 1820 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3075 mm. It features a 2+2+2 six-seat layout, with independent second-row seats and a third row that supports longitudinal sliding. The exterior adopts a closed front-end design, integrates a LiDAR on the roof, and introduces three exclusive new colours: Golden Black, Winter Green, and Sunset Ink. The side of the Denza N8L. Powertrain and charging The core of the vehicle is its advanced electric system. The N8L pure electric version is equipped with a 130.15 kWh second-generation Blade Battery, providing a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 960 km (778 km WLTP). A battery of the same size is also used in the four-wheel drive models of the BYD Great Tang (Da Tang), but the Da Tang’s CLTC range is only 850 km (689 km WLTP). The Denza N8, using the same battery, has a CLTC range of 1,003 km (812 km WLTP). Built on an 800V high-voltage architecture, the vehicle can charge from 10% to 97% in approximately 9 minutes. The initial launch features a single-motor rear-wheel-drive version with a maximum power output of 370 kW (496 hp). Intelligent driving and cockpit For intelligent driving assistance, the new vehicle is equipped with the “God’s Eye” 5.0 system. The hardware suite includes 1 LiDAR, 5 millimetre-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 12 cameras, supporting high-speed navigation assistance, urban navigation assistance, and full-scenario automatic parking. Inside, the cabin features a six-screen linkage layout, including an instrument cluster, central control screen, front passenger entertainment screen, rear entertainment screens, an AR-HUD, and a streaming media rearview mirror. The N8L pure electric version debuts the BYD “DiClaw” AI agent, which can understand complex, multi-step instructions and supports functions like itinerary planning and smart home control.
