The new Z9 GT e3 Flash Charge trim launched on September 9, positioning itself 40,000 yuan (5,960 USD) below the existing e3 Flash Charge Performance Edition without changing the core drivetrain. e3 powertrain, range and charging The Z9 GT e3 uses Denza’s e3 all-wheel-drive system, combining a 230-kW front motor with two 310-kW rear permanent-magnet motors to generate 1,210 N·m of torque. Denza quotes a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 2.8 seconds. Standard independent rear-wheel steering gives the Z9 GT a 4.62-meter turning radius and supports low-speed pivot turns and automated parking. Denza pairs the drivetrain with its DiSus-A intelligent air suspension and high-speed stability control functions. The new Z9 GT e3 uses BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and is rated for 860 km of CLTC range (600 km WLTP). Denza claims the Flash Charging system can provide a substantial replenishment in five minutes and reach a full charge in nine minutes under suitable conditions, with extreme cold adding three minutes. The hardware connects to BYD’s dedicated Flash Charging network, which exceeded 10,000 operational stations in China by late August. Price cut comes through hardware adjustments The lower-priced version retains the Z9 GT’s 5,195 mm length, 3,125 mm wheelbase, and fastback shooting-brake body, but trims equipment compared with the 369,800-yuan (55,137 USD) e3 Performance. The primary mechanical change is the braking hardware: the Performance version uses carbon-ceramic brake discs, while the Z9 GT e3 switches to ventilated cast-iron discs. Selected cabin amenities are also streamlined. Driver assistance remains handled by DiPilot 5.0 with city navigation on autopilot and automated parking. The lower price also puts the Z9 GT in the same territory as the dual-motor Zeekr 001 AWD, which tops out at 329,800 yuan. The most powerful standard 001 AWD configuration produces 580 kW (778 hp), giving the Denza a 270 kW (362 hp) output advantage. Z9 GT sales remain a major part of Denza’s lineup The new trim arrives after a rapid increase in Z9 GT domestic sales. Retail deliveries rose from 712 units in March 2026 to 3,969 in April and reached 6,025 in June before easing 11.3% month on month to 5,344 units in July, according to China EV DataTracker. The Z9 GT accounted for 29.6% of Denza’s domestic passenger-car sales in July, making it one of the brand’s largest volume contributors alongside the D9 MPV.
