BYD took the solid first place, with Leapmotor as the runner-up. BYD sold 456,713 passenger cars in September 2026 globally. This number includes 183,570 plug-in hybrid vehicles and 273,143 battery electric vehicles. The Shenzhen-based automaker exported 180,700 vehicles in the same period. Its cumulative sales in the first nine months of 2026 reached 3,078,490 cars. Leapmotor’s deliveries reached 105,656 units in September 2026, surging by 59%. The automaker highlighted that 27,000 cars were sold overseas in this period. The brand’s cumulative deliveries are 665,539 vehicles. Leapmotor achieved 66.7% of the annual sales goal of 1 million units. Changan Nevo mainstream NEV brand registered deliveries of 45,607 units Xpeng handed over 41,256 cars to owners globally, up 5% Year-Over-Year. Its cumulative sales are 284,367 units, including 118,390 cars sold in Q3 2026. One of the oldest Chinese EV brands achieved 51.7% of its annual sales goal. Xiaomi sold 40,000 units, including over 10,000 units of the Skynomad SUVs. The cumulative sales of the Xiaomi Auto from January to September 2026 reached 269,000 units. The company’s sales goal for the full year is 550,000 units. This means Xiaomi achieved only 48.9% of its sales goal. Huawei’s vehicle sales network, HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance), handed over 37,490 units in September 2026. This figure includes the sales performance of Aito, Luxeed, Stelato, Maextro, and Saic (Shangjie) brands. The cumulative sales reached 367,229 cars in the first nine months of the year. Nio delivered 37,408 units in September 2026. Nio brand handed over 21,318 cars, Onvo sold 8.763 vehicles, and Firefly delivered 7,327 units. The company’s cumulative sales in 2026 totaled 300,301 cars, up 49.2% Year-Over-Year (Nio: 181,988; Onvo: 70,191; Firefly: 48,122). Nio reached 65.9% of its minimum sales goal for 2026, which is 456,000 vehicles. Zeekr handed over 37,216 cars to clients all over the world, soaring by 103.85% Year-Over-Year. The brand’s cumulative deliveries hit 288,404 units, up 100.84% Y-O-Y. Geely’s high-end brand achieved 57.7% of its sales target for 2026 (which is 500,000 units). GAC Aion sold 35,494 units in September 2026, up 21.91% Year-Over-Year. This number includes the sales performance of Aion and Hyptec brands. Li Auto delivered 31,817 cars in September 2026. It brings the brand’s cumulative sales to 293,436 units. The company achieved 59.8% of its minimum 2026 sales target of 490,000 units. Changan’s NEV brand, Deepal, sold 30,185 cars to clients in September 2026. Its cumulative sales number reached 252,213 units, up 8.59% Year-Over-Year. This brand is actively exploring overseas markets to solidify its market positioning. Deepal didn’t disclose its sales target for 2026. BAIC NEV sold 24,080 vehicles in September 2026, up 17.24% Y-O-Y. This statistic includes 24,080 ArcFox-branded vehicles. The cumulative deliveries reached 163,376 cars, up 46.52% Year-Over-Year. Geely’s mid-to-high-end brand Lynk & Co delivered 18,493 cars in September 2026. Its cumulative sales from January to September 2026 fell 19% Year-Over-Year. The Dongfeng-owned high-end brand Voyah delivered 13,025 units in September 2026. Its deliveries from January to September 2026 rose by 19% to 115,481 units.
