In Shaanxi, leading officials from the Xi’an Municipal Committee led a delegation to visit BYD in Shenzhen, inspecting the operation of flash charging stations on-site. BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu explicitly stated that BYD will continue to increase investment and R&D efforts in Xi’an. According to automotive media reports, BYD has also successively engaged in in-depth exchanges with governments and groups in Guangxi, Anhui, Heilongjiang, Yunnan, Fuzhou, and other regions regarding ultra-fast charging network layout, with deployment speed expected to further increase. Owners of vehicles equipped with second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging capability enjoy 1 year of free flash charging benefits. Supporting this series of deployments is the BYD Megawatt Flash Charging 2.0 technology and second-generation Blade Battery unveiled by BYD on March 5. The company stated that the new technology achieves ultra-fast charging capability from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes. Currently, the BYD Flash Charging APP has also been launched, with charging prices set at 1.3 yuan per kWh (including electricity fees and service charges), supporting plug-and-charge and seamless payment. Notably, this APP is not exclusively for BYD owners—as long as a vehicle’s voltage platform meets standards and the interface is compatible, owners of other electric vehicle brands will also be able to use it in the future. All Han L EV and Tang L EV owners can enjoy one year of free flash charging at any BYD flash charging station nationwide. Existing owners’ free benefits run from March 9, 2026 to March 9, 2027, while new owners enjoy one year of free flash charging from their vehicle delivery date. For all vehicle models, starting March 15, all new owners who took delivery after January 1, 2026 will automatically receive “1 Year Free Flash Charging Benefits” through the BYD APP: charging at all official BYD flash charging stations nationwide, unlimited times and unlimited hours, with both electricity fees and service charges waived, capped at 1,200 kWh per year.
