Recent footage shared by the official BYD Ocean Series social media account captured a fleet of the new models departing from the company’s manufacturing facility in Jinan, signalling a ramp-up in distribution to customers across the country. This rollout follows a strong market reception, with Zhang Zhuo, general manager of BYD’s Ocean Series sales division, reporting that the Sealion 08 secured over 12,000 firm orders within the first 24 hours of its launch. While recent industry speculation suggested that production might be constrained by capacity issues regarding BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, even alleging a backlog of 250,000 orders, BYD has officially dismissed this claim as unfounded rumours.
