BYD FCB Ti9 six-seat PHEV flagship SUV arriving at showroom/ Credit: Weibo BYD‘s Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) opened nationwide customer registration for its flagship SUV, the Ti9, on September 29, 2026. Fang Cheng Bao General Manager Xiong Tianbo’s announcement formally opens customer sign-ups ahead of fourth-quarter deliveries. Production units are already reaching sales channels. Automotive hauliers began transporting the six-seat plug-in hybrid to FCB direct-sales showrooms across China on September 28. Unibody platform expands Fang Cheng Bao lineup The Ti9 expands Fang Cheng Bao beyond the body-on-frame Bao 5 and Bao 8 with a high-strength monocoque unibody structure. It adopts a larger three-row format with a 5,270 mm length, 1,999 mm width, 1,850 mm height (or 1,880 mm with roof racks), and a 3,130 mm wheelbase. Curb weight ranges from 2,865 kg to 2,965 kg, while gross vehicle weight is rated at 3,495 kg. The Ti9 enters the large three-row PHEV and EREV crossover segment alongside models such as the Li Auto L9 and Aito M9. Production BYD FCB Ti9 SUVs arrive at dealerships across China on transport hauliers, showcasing the panoramic triple-screen interior, horizontally split tailgate, and flat-folding third row. DMS hybrid architecture and Flash Charging The Ti9 debuts BYD’s dedicated DMS (Dual Mode Super) hybrid architecture. Its powertrain combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 115 kW (154 hp) with 200 kW (268 hp) electric motors on both axles. The two motors provide a combined 400 kW (536 hp) of electric output. A 66.48 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Second-Generation Blade Battery supplied by BYD’s FinDreams subsidiary supports BYD Flash Charging. Under Chinese regulatory testing, the Ti9 achieves a 310 km WLTC pure-electric range. The chassis uses BYD’s DiSus-P Ultra hydraulic body-control system with road-preview functions, while active rear-wheel steering is standard. Roof-mounted LiDAR supports BYD’s DiPilot 300 driver-assistance system. The vehicle also incorporates Tire-blowout Stabilisation Control, Intelligent All-Terrain Sensing, and two-way satellite communication. Cradle-mode cabin and split tailgate The six-seat cabin uses a 2+2+2 layout. The front passenger and second-row captain’s seats offer an automated Cradle Mode designed for reclining and rest. An integrated panoramic triple-screen display serves the front row, while a ceiling-mounted 21.4-inch fold-down screen provides rear entertainment. The cargo area uses an electrically operated horizontally split tailgate. Its lower section forms a reinforced bench rated for a 300 kg static load. Third-row seatbacks fold into the cargo floor through electric controls in the rear trim, while the Ti9 has a rated braked towing capacity of 2,000 kg. Detailed trim levels and final pricing will be announced closer to customer deliveries later this year. Official specification posters for the BYD FCB Ti9 detail its DMS platform, 30-inch display, and split tailgate.
