This line comprises the Formula S liftback and the Formula S GT station wagon. These two cars began domestic deliveries on September 28. BYD revealed at the meeting with shareholders that the Formula S models performed better than expected in the Chinese market after the launch on September 16. The company representatives think that the Formula S and the Formula S GT combined sales could surpass 10,000 units, potentially reaching 15,000 cars per month. The Fang Cheng Bao Formula S (left) and the Formula S GT The FCB Formula S liftback is priced between 189,900 and 229,900 yuan (28,330 – 34,300 USD). The Formula S GT station wagon is more expensive, offering a price range of 219,900 – 239,900 yuan (32,805 – 35,790 USD). The higher trim levels of these vehicles offer the DiSus-M magnetorheological suspension that uses a special fluid to change stiffness by adjusting a magnetic field inside the damper. According to China EV DataTracker, the FCB brand delivered 32,797 units in August 2026 in China. The brand’s bestseller is the FCB Ti 7 crossover, which handed over 23,471 cars in the same period. It is worth noting that the FCB Ti 7 is being marketed as the BYD Ti 7 outside China. There is a chance that the Formula S and the Formula S GT will enter foreign markets as part of the Denza brand. The Fang Cheng Bao Formula S The Formula S liftback offers dimensions of 5060/1967/1483 mm with a wheelbase of 2,960 mm. Its entry-level variant offers a 76.744 kWh battery paired with an e-motor for 245 kW (329 hp), providing 720 km of CLTC range (612 km WLTP). The long-range variant of the Formula S offers a 92.093 kWh LFP pack and a 300 kW (402 hp) e-motor. Its range lies between 830 and 900 km CLTC (706 – 765 km WLTP), depending on equipment. The Formula S will also be available with a dual-motor AWD for 490 kW (657 hp). The Fang Cheng Bao Formula S GT The Formula S GT station wagon boasts hefty dimensions of 5025/1967/1483 mm. It comes standard with a 92.093 kWh LFP battery. The RWD variant with an e-motor for 300 kW has a range of 800 – 850 km (CLTC conditions). The all-wheel-drive variant with 490 kW can run up to 730 km on a charge. Both Formula S models support flash charging technology, allowing them to charge from 10% to 97% in nine minutes. During the meeting with shareholders, BYD also highlighted that it intends to build 6,000 flash chargers abroad. They will be integrated with the energy storage and solar power business. As for the domestic plans, BYD expects to deploy 20,000 flash chargers across China by the end of the year.
