The BYD Da Han is the Dynasty series' 10 millionth car. Credit: BYD The 10 millionth BYD Dynasty series car rolled off the production line in China as the Da Han flagship sedan. It took the Shenzhen-based automaker 13 years to reach this milestone. The BYD Dynasty series is the brand’s core lineup of plug-in hybrid and battery electric cars named after the ruling dynasties of Imperial China. The first Dynasty series model entered the domestic market in August 2013 as the BYD Qin. This model was offered with the DM plug-in hybrid system, offering a 13 kWh LFP battery, suitable for 82 km of NEDC range (70 km WLTP). 13 years later, the Dynasty series comprises six lines: Tang, Han, Qin, Song, Yuan, and Xia. They include 27 vehicles (including different model years). On September 29, BYD officials shared that the 10 millionth Dynasty car rolled off the production line. It is the Da Han flagship sedan, also known as the Great Han. BYD shared that the Dynasty series cumulative sales have grown from 8.86 million units in January 2026 to around 10 million by September 2026. This series is also said to be the primary driver of the brand’s sales. Of the brand’s first 15 million new energy vehicles sold, the Dynasty series contributed approximately 9 million units, while the Ocean series accounted for about 6 million. The BYD Da Han sedan The BYD Da Han boasts dimensions of 5256/1999/1510 mm with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. It has a dual-chamber DiSus-A air suspension that allows the ground clearance to be increased by 100 mm. Another benefit of this car is rear-wheel steering, bringing the turning radius to just 4.95 meters. The car offers the DiPilot 300 (“God’s Eye B”) assisted driving system, suitable for the Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) function on urban roads and highways. The entry-level BYD Da Han adopts a single e-motor with a peak power of 370 kW (496 hp). Thanks to a 102.326 kWh battery pack, the single-motor Da Han can run up to 1,008 km under CLTC conditions (827 km WLTP). The top-trim AWD version of this model, with a combined peak power of 570 kW (764 hp), has the same battery for an 880 km CLTC range (722 WLTP). The starting price of the Da Han is 249,900 yuan (37,240 USD)
