The remaining spots were occupied by foreign luxury brands such as Porsche, Land Rover, and Mercedes-Benz. In 2025, the average price of passenger cars in China was 170,000 yuan (24,400 USD), a decrease of 14,000 yuan (2,000 USD) compared to 2024. Against the backdrop of a declining overall market average price, the luxury car market also experienced a price reduction. The average price of luxury cars was 358,000 yuan (51,300 USD) in 2025, a decrease from 376,000 yuan (53,900 USD) in 2024. Ultra-luxury vehicles priced at over one million yuan accounted for less than 1% of overall sales last year. For a long time, this market has been firmly controlled by foreign brands such as Land Rover, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and Lexus. In the past two year, Chinese brands started to enter this ultra-luxury market segment, such as Hongqi, Maextro, and Yangwang. Source: Automotive blogger “Tongkuai Shuchang”, BYD Yangwang
