This version will become the most luxurious model under the BYD umbrella, challenging the legacy rivals from Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Maybach. The Yangwang U8L was initially launched in China in September 2025 as an elongated three-row variant of the regular U8 SUV. This 5.4-meter EREV is priced between 1,280,000 and 1,300,000 yuan (189,590 – 192,555 USD). It was previously reported that BYD will introduce the four-seat U8L to the domestic market with a starting price of around 1,800,000 yuan. Interior of the four-seat Yangwang U8L On August 3, the four-seat Yangwang U8L SUV was revealed in official images in China. This version is called the “Snowcrest Edition.” It adopts a silver body shade with various golden accents. They include a front emblem made of genuine gold. The car boasts LiDAR sensors in the front fenders and the “Yangwang” inscription on the D-pillar. However, the major feature of this SUV is the cabin. The second row adopts two independent seats. They are divided by a large center tunnel with a touchscreen, a built-in fridge, and various hidden compartments. The car’s seat upholstery is embossed with a mountain landscape. Similar drawings can be seen on the center tunnel, door cards, and pillars. The U8L Snowcrest has mountain logos on the headrest of each seat. Interior of the four-seat Yangwang U8L The second-row seats of the four-seat Yangwang U8L adopt power leg rests and speakers integrated into the headrests. Other highlights include tons of ambient lighting, folding tables, and a large panoramic roof. There is a chance the car’s rear windows will adopt the electrochromic dimming function, as no physical sunshades can be seen in the official image. More information about the Snowcrest Edition will be disclosed closer to the actual launch. The Yangwang U8L is a full-size SUV with dimensions of 5400/2049/1921 mm with a wheelbase of 3,250 mm. For clarity, it is 17 mm longer than the standard Cadillac Escalade. The car’s powertrain adopts a 2-liter turbocharged range extender under the hood. It powers a 56.58 kWh Blade 2.0 battery that supports flash charging. The U8L also has four electric motors powering each wheel with a combined output of 880 kW (1,180 hp). The peak torque of the system reaches 1,280 Nm. This vehicle can accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. Its mixed range reaches 1,000 km. The car’s chassis adopts the Disus-P hydraulic suspension. This massive SUV also has carbon-ceramic brakes. The regular six-seat U8L is the opposite of a high-volume car.
