The Large Battery pack offers some great range.
Thanks to some eagle-eyed enthusiasts on the Rivian Forums, we now know the true EPA-rated range numbers for the Rivian R1S Dual Motor with the Large battery pack and how much horsepower it makes.
Range-wise, depending on the wheel and tire setup the owner opts for, the Dual-Motor/Large Battery setup starts with 305 miles of range with 20-inch wheels and all-terrain tires, 336 miles of range with 22-inch wheels and street tires, and tops out at 348 miles of range with 21-inch wheels and street tires.
All of these estimates come out slightly better than what Rivian has previously estimated. The documents don't discuss the results of the R1T specifically, although it says it was tested, but know that these numbers should come in even slightly better than these. The cherry on top is that the finalized horsepower number is buried in the documents, coming in at 708 horsepower for the dual-motor setup.

708 adds up to what we've been hearing regarding the Performance Dual-Motor variants. This comes via a software update the owner can purchase from the company, but the base setup is still believed to produce 600 hp. Interestingly, the higher-performance models were tested instead, but perhaps the EPA listed the highest output possible from the motors.
Speaking of range again, it's most likely that when the R1T Dual Motor Large battery pack range is released, we'll likely see it become an even more attractive option in the EV truck segment. Currently, the GMC Hummer EV boasts up to 355 miles of range, and the Ford F-150 Lighting only has 320 miles. But also worth noting is that these are larger trucks, and the Rivian is closer in size to midsize trucks like the new Ford Ranger. There are no comparably sized electric trucks.

All of them are far from the top, though, as the Chevy Silverado EV WT recently returned an EPA-estimated 450 miles of range. When the Max pack is finally available for Rivian's later this year, we imagine it will put up a fight with that number, but we'd be surprised if it surpasses it.
The Dual-Motor setup that helps achieve this mileage comprises the company's new Enduro motors. Building them in-house has allowed the company to complete orders faster while offering an option better suited to customer needs. As cool as the Quad-Motor setup is, most people just don't need it. The first Dual-Motor R1T has already rolled off the line, right on schedule, with the first Dual-Motor R1S hot on its heels.
