Drivetech, part of the AA, has launched a free fleet health-check tool, designed to help businesses manage and reduce risk fleet-wide. PULSE Light covers all types of vehicles, providing easily interpretable results with red/green status – red standing for non-compliant and green for compliant respectively. The tool enables managers to identify and prioritise compliance and duty of care issues across their fleets, along with non-compliance areas covering policies, drivers, vehicle safety and journeys. The tool comprises a simple online questionnaire, taking around 30 minutes to complete. Once submitted, a trained assessor will create a customised report and action plan, supplied within ten working days. The solution includes recommendations to address specific issues in priority order, including best practices and consequences of non-compliance. Employers have a duty of care to ensure the health and safety of employees who drive or ride for work, regardless of vehicle type. This duty of care covers grey fleet, or employee-owned, vehicles, in addition to company cars. PULSE Light has also helped fleets to achieve longer term cost benefits by reducing vehicle off-road time and providing insurance savings.
