Chrysler is recalling 16,741 units of the 2017 and 2018 model year plug-in hybrid version of its Pacifica minivan in the US due to a potential fire risk that could occur even when the vehicle is not in use.
The cause has not yet been established. Owners are advised for now to park the vehicles outdoors and away from other vehicles and buildings, and not to charge. Chrysler says they have been investigating the issue but it has not yet gotten down to the bottom of what’s causing it. This also means Pacifica owners may have to wait some time before being allowed to drive again.
