Always know where Santa is this Christmas Eve.
Chevrolet is making it easier to track Santa’s whereabouts on Christmas Eve right from your own vehicle equipped with an active OnStar plan.
On December 24th between 6 AM EST and 5 AM EST on December 25th, you can find out exactly where Jolly Ol’ Saint Nick and his sleigh full of gifts are by pushing the OnStar button in your Chevrolet or GM vehicle.
Using the North Warning System radar chain and geosynchronous satellite network, the North America Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD for short, teams up with the North Pole and together you can follow Santa on his magical journey of bringing joy and Christmas cheer to kids (and adults) around the world.
“Each year, we help keep spirits bright by fulfilling thousands of requests on Santa’s whereabouts,” said Stacey Unold, director of Contact Center Operations supporting Chevrolet. “This in-car technology provides Chevy owners and their families with a fun and festive way to connect during the most wonderful time of the year.”
OnStar has been providing a helping hand to weary travellers for over 20 years now, and their live agents are on hand 24/7 to help you during an emergency, or if you get lost, or if you just want to find the nearest Starbucks.
If you’re in the United States, a $1 donation will be made to the American Red Cross by Chevrolet and OnStar every time the blue button is pushed to track the big guy.
The holiday season can be a hectic, rather stressful time of year for families trying to get together to celebrate and with much of that time spent on the road OnStar’s live agents will be on hand to relay exactly how close, or far, Santa is to your house.
