Specialty Vehicle Engineering takes off-roading seriously. And while the current-generation Chevrolet Colorado has one foot (or wheel) out the door, the New Jersey-based tuner took the liberty to give the mid-size pickup a proper send-off with its own TRX-fighting, 750 horsepower version of the popular midsize pickup.
It all starts with the 2022 Colorado ZR2 Crew Cab short box. But instead of GM’s 3.6-litre V6 under the hood, you’ll find the Silverado’s trusty 5.3-litre V8 with 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque onto which SVE slapped its own in-house centrifugal supercharger and air-to-water intercooler in order to virtually double the horsepower figure.

Of course, the engine has been carefully prepped to receive the extra ponies with forged internals and CNC ported cylinder heads, an upgraded fuel system, and a 8L90E eight-speed transmission.
The ZR2’s original DSSV dampers are still there (because they’re simply perfect). But SVE upgraded the braking system with six-piston front brake calipers gripping 13.6-inch ventilated rotors. It also gets a 4-inch suspension lift.

The Xtreme Off-Road model is not only mechanically extreme. Physically, it shows a number of 750-hp badges, black 18×8 inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 295/70 Nitto Recon Grapplers and other rugged elements.
Inside, the upholstery gets red and white stitching with “XTREME V8 Supercharged” embroidered in red and white on front headrests.
