The Essence and Premium trims are $900 and $835 more affordable, but the Avenir has seen a minor price hike.
Pricing for the 2024 Buick Enclave has been revealed via the manufacturer's configurator, and, for once, we've got some good news: the Essence and Premium trims are cheaper than MY2023. This is refreshing to hear, as new vehicles often receive hefty yearly price updates.
The Essence FWD derivative weighs in at $43,900 for the 2024 model year, making it $900 cheaper than before. The mid-spec Premium grade is priced at $51,200, which represents an $835 reduction compared to the 2023 Enclave lineup. All-wheel drive models are $2,000 pricier but receive the same price cuts as their front-driven counterparts.
Sadly, those in the market for the range-topping Avenir are expected to pay more. But before you sigh in frustration, pricing for the Avenir FWD ($57,500) and Avenir AWD ($59,500) is just $30 more expensive than last year's model.
Buick
As per Buick's official release for the 2024 Enclave, the three-row SUV has seen zero revisions or improvements for MY2024. Last year, the GM-owned brand introduced Moonstone Grey Metallic as an extra-cost exterior color, as well as the Sport Touring Edition package for the Essence trim.
Under the hood, the naturally-aspirated 3.6-liter V6 soldiers on unchanged. The 310-horsepower mill produces 266 lb-ft of torque, which makes for respectable (if relaxed) performance. A nine-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels or all four corners, depending on the selected configuration.
The second-generation Enclave has been around since 2018. A facelift was introduced a few years ago, lending the crossover more appeal, but it's beginning to show its age. We expect a replacement to arrive in the next year or two, sporting the automaker's new design language.
Buick
We've already seen the new Encore GX and Buick has treated us to a preview of the new Envision. Both models have donned a Wildcat concept-inspired front end, which will likely be applied to the Enclave in the coming years. The updated Envision is expected to arrive at the end of this year and will introduce Super Cruise for the first time on a Buick model.
The semi-premium brand has been going through an identity crisis of late. Rather than letting it fade away into obscurity, Buick has launched a new project to rehabilitate itself with a fresh design, a new logo, and a slew of desirable electric vehicles.
Perhaps the next-generation Enclave will arrive as an even more upmarket product, positioned to take on the Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7. Then again, the brand will have to tread carefully, as Buick wouldn't want to step on Cadillac's toes.
All prices listed here do not include Buick's $1,395 destination charge.
