The automaker's home in Molsheim will also increase its workforce within a few years.
Bugatti is preparing to leave the Chiron era behind to make room for its next hypercar. To that end, the French automaker has announced the expansion of its headquarters in Molsheim, France. This project is part of Bugatti's investment program, aimed at supporting the development of new models.
The planned expansion will see a new building adjacent to the existing Atelier where the Bugatti Chiron is assembled. The two-story facility will occupy 22,819 square feet, with construction starting in the latter part of 2024. It will also be the new production hub of the Bolide and W16 Mistral.
The automaker's future “bonkers” hypercar, confirmed to be electrified in one form or another by Bugatti-Rimac CEO Mate Rimac, will also be produced in the same facility.

“The addition of this new facility at our home in Molsheim will be timed perfectly with the expansion of the brand and product range, showcasing the strength of Bugatti as we head into an exciting future,” said Bugatti President Christophe Piochon.
The new Bugatti-Rimac hypercar has been teased once before. Pegged as the Chiron replacement, details surrounding the next hypercar are scarce at this point. “[It will be] rearranged as a hybrid. It's completely new, so there is not one part carried over from any car,” said Rimac.
Rimac also confirmed that Bugatti would produce one more combustion engine and the electric component of the upcoming hypercar will be supplied by Rimac.

There's a lot to look forward to from Bugatti, which has been further solidified with this expansion plan. Moreover, the automaker has also initiated a recruitment campaign to attract new talent, signaling growth in quality control, planning, logistics, and production departments. An increase of 50% to its current workforce is expected by the end of 2027.
Bugatti isn't the only company expanding after the Bugatti-Rimac joint venture. Rimac's new global headquarters started its construction the same year the merger was announced. The $218 million state-of-the-art Rimac Campus is located in Zagreb, Croatia. It is expected to become one of Europe’s most extensive combined R&D and production facilities upon its completion this year.
