And both the Porsche Cayman GT4 and Boxster Spyder are sold-out
The upgraded 2024 Porsche 718 sports car range has been slapped with some significant price increases for the new model year before first examples arrive here late in the third quarter of this year, so by September.
Prices for the mid-engined Porsche Cayman coupe and Boxster roadster have risen by between $9800 and $24,900 depending on the variant, with the biggest hike predictably applying to the range-topping Cayman GT4 RS, which now starts at a whopping $336,800 plus on-road costs.
An even $12,000 has been added onto the cheapest Cayman’s price, bumping the entry-level coupe up from $122,000 to $134,000 before ORCs, while the corresponding Boxster’s asking price has gone up by $11,800 to $136,600 plus ORCs.
The same respective margins have been applied to automatic versions of both models, while the Cayman S and Boxster S variants are now $10,100 and $9800 pricier at $160,100 and $162,600 plus ORCs respectively.

A full pricing table with the new MY24 price premiums can be found below, but the other increases include a $10,200 bump for the Cayman GTS twins (now from $196,400) and a $10,100 hike for the corresponding Boxster GTS soft-tops (from $199,000).
The vibrant-looking but lower-end Style Edition versions of both models have each risen by more than $12,000, however, there seems to have been reshuffle in the pricing of the transmission options.
While the PDK automatic was once a $5340 optional extra, the industry pricing guide seen by carsales lists the automatic as its own variant with retail prices of $139,620 for the Cayman and $142,220 for the Boxster, both plus ORCs.

These figures are just $1420 higher than the manual versions and loosely align with the rest of the line-up in terms of manual versus automatic pricing.
Given Porsche Cars Australia hasn’t yet publicly released pricing or specification details for its MY24 718 range, it declined to comment but did address the wider matter of price increases.
“We always endeavour to offer our customers the most competitive vehicles,” a PCA spokesperson told carsales.

“In view of these factors, price adjustments at the model year changeover are a customary practice in the industry.
“Please understand that due to our large number of products, we cannot provide information on specific models.”
Notable absentees from the updated 718 range are the (non-RS) Cayman GT4 and Boxster Spyder duo, which usually serve as the penultimate and flagship variants of their respective ranges.
We understand demand for the track-capable models is presently outstripping supply, as per a number of other key performance models like the Hyundai i20 N and i30 N hot hatches, the Audi RS 3 and Mercedes-AMG G 63.
