Deliveries scheduled in May are expected to arrive in September.
The McLaren Artura has been facing delays due to various issues. In a memo to US retailers obtained by Automotive News, it appears the British automaker hasn't completely sorted it out yet, as the hybrid supercar is being delayed once again for an average of four months.
Originally scheduled to arrive in 2020, units expected to be delivered in May have been postponed to September. Ever since the model was hit with setbacks, the automaker has been saying one thing repeatedly – quality must be prioritized before customers take delivery.
“To implement these quality control producers, we have temporarily slowed production, said McLaren Spokesman Roger Ormisher.

In late 2022, CarBuzz spoke to Jamie Corstorphine, McLaren's Director of Product Strategy, about the updates on the Artura. He admitted certain components had failed during testing, with a pre-production press test car catching fire. The usual suspects were also mentioned: software malfunctions and supply chain woes caused by the pandemic.
The McLaren Artura is underpinned by the automaker's next-generation platform for producing supercars. It is also a key model for the brand's adoption of electrification, set to compete against the likes of the Ferrari 296 GTB.
Both are powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 plug-in hybrid engine, with the McLaren supercar producing a combined output of 671 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque. From zero to 60 mph, the automaker claims the vehicle can complete it in 2.9 seconds.

As sweet as that sounds, the guys at the factory have to ensure reliability first so the brand can deliver to customers the promised performance. But due to current reliability concerns, some retailers are frustrated as multiple customers have canceled orders. On the bright side, the delays reflect McLaren's commitment to delivering quality products to customers.
“It's about quality, quality, quality,” a source said of the company's message. “Making sure the cars are perfect before they leave the factory.”
Fans eager to see the McLaren Artura can follow this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 13 to 16. The Artura will share the stage with the Solus GT, a 5.2-liter V10-powered single-seater hypercar set to debut at the festival.
